The Hymen is a membrane that normally covers the entrance to the vagina, except a small opening in the middle. During a woman`s first sexual intercourse it tears, which may lead to minor bleeding.
Sporting activities, inserting a tampon, a gynaecological examination or even an accident can also cause the hymen to tear.
In some cultures an intact hymen has a high value in signifying purity when entering marriage. Women who decide to have their hymen renewed do so mainly for traditional reasons. This is done using tissue from the leftovers of the torn hymen or vaginal mucous.
The procedure takes approximately 30 – 45 minutes. After a period of about 2 – 3 weeks, in which the hymen is allowed to heal, even a gynaecological examination cannot determine that the hymen has been subject to renewal.
Anesthesia: local anesthesia
Duration of stay in the clinic: outpatient care
After the procedure: no sporting activities for 4 – 6 weeks after the treatment.
Costs can vary slightly because the effort of the treatment depends on individual findings. In your first personal consultation appointment we will provide you with a cost estimate that is tailored exactly to the method of treatment necessary for you.
